As a car guy the question I get a lot from people is, “how did you first get into cars?” This is the age-old question, which all fields of interest possess, whether it be in a job interview, first date, etc. We all have a story to tell when asked such a question, so I figured it would be good to share my story and have you share yours with us too. Heres Mine
For me cars have always been an interest, things like Matchbox and Hotwheels along with other model cars were a huge part of my childhood. It was through these that I first learned the names of some of these machines. I had a 1/18th scale Bugatti EB110 that was my favorite, and it currently sits with lost wheels, mirrors, and windows, but I have kept it to kind of remind me of where I came from. Other notables were a Mercedes 300 SL gullwing (a favorite because of the doors of course), and a Ferrari Daytona. I had an interest in cars back then but there were other things I concerned myself with as well for a few more years.
In 6th grade I got a Playstation 2 for my birthday and the game that came with it was Gran Turismo 3. Little did I know, but the fact that Sony had decided to use that game as a free promotion for the system would alter my life course drastically. It took me a month and a half to even open the game as I had been mainly been concerned with NHL 2002. When I did open it I spent my time going through the makes and just looking at the cars, some I had heard of but most I had not. The vast selection and variety just captivated me and my interest was fully caught by the game right away. The one car that really stood out to me, to the point of “WOW” when I first saw it, was the Pagani Zonda, however due to its high price and low exposure in the US at the time it would have to wait till I visited the factory in 2004 to become my “dream car”. My first dream car was the Dodge Viper, and I actually just kept doing the same race over and over until I could buy it for 80k. As I played GT3, I was driven to learn more about the world of cars, it literally just became an obsession and a passion for me, and it remains so to this day as I keep getting deeper and deeper into the automotive world.
My first interest was really in the exotics but as I have grown and entered the real world I have branched out to having a love for anything that is special, meaning other than mundane. I have decided to pursue this passion in my life, and that was the main reason for starting this site. I want to have an outlet to share my love of cars and for others to share theirs.

I can’t remember nick not being a car guy, and I have know him since he was a year old. Charlie HuebnerP
