Spotted this seriously sinister Ford scraper on the side of Woodward Ave last weekend. It was so cool that I had to turn around to get these pics of it. Awesome car, so badass. Enjoy.

This car is a hoot. It must be 1.5″ above the ground. Is that what a scrape rod is? Great pictures and really a beautiful car.

A sinister looking ride for sure. Does it scrape when being driven or when people sit in it, or is it not quite as low as it appears? Hydraulics perhaps? Bruce
Bruce, I only saw it driving briefly later on, but it looked very low. I think its fine on flat surfaces but any sort of bump and it’d scrape for sure.

It’s a ’50 Ford Shoebox…not a Merc. Bagged, shaved, chopped, channeled, body dropped, and frenched with a De Sotto grille. One of my favorite lead sleds.

Hi from AP MI…Can see why hit’s called “scrape rod.” My friend has a 49′ Merc…customized, chopped top etc..black with flames on the sides & hood. D&A collison River Rouge MI. Nice find.
