The 2012 Radnor Hunt Concours d’ Elegance

Ferrari 250TR, 500TRC, 250LM, and others

This is the 3rd year in a row we have attended the Radnor Hunt Concours, and it continues to blow us away each time. For me this year was especially interesting because Ferraris and pre-war Cadillacs were being featured. What you see above was the view as we entered the show, a row of Ferraris worth tens of millions of dollars alone. Most of these cars will be getting their own specific features later on so just let this be a nice preview of things to come. Enjoy.   Read the rest of this entry »

Spotted! Ferrari F40, Detroit, Michigan

I found this legendary Ferrari in the parking lot of the Belle Island Grand Prix. There were lots of Ferraris lined up in the VIP car park. It is always a pleasure to see one of these turbocharged monsters in person. Enjoy.

Pagani Zonda: The last surviving member of a glorious age

Pagani Zonda 760RS

There have been two videos in the past few days about Pagani. One was JF Musial’s visit to the Pagani Factory for his segment on the Drive network, and the other was EVO Magazine’s video of the Zonda 760RS. The Drive video was more like a documentary and featured an interview with Horacio Pagani himself, offering a lot of valuable insight into Pagani Automobili, their values, and their history. Evo’s video was more targeted toward the Zonda 760RS specifically. It was one of the typical, somewhat quirky, Harry Metcalfe videos that fans have come to know and love. But Harry did a fantastic job of showing us what the 760RS is all about, and he made sure we could hear the car’s glorious soundtrack. The mix of these videos started me thinking about the Zonda specifically, and its significance in the world of cars.   Read the rest of this entry »

A little garage in Florida

The collection, more pic and details below

Back in 2006 me and my family went to Tampa/ St. Petersburg, Florida. Me being the car nut, I decided to look up somewhere to go see some exotics in Dupont Registry. I found an ad for a Maserati MC-12. My dad called and said he was interested, he asked what else they had and they said “we have everything”, they weren’t kidding. We met up with the representative not at a posh dealership, but at a warehouse in the middle of an industrial, working class area, a place you would never expect to find such things. Upon entering the back room of the warehouse, behind a machine shop, I laid eyes on some of the most exotic cars on earth. I don’t want to give away to much about the owner, but let’s just say he is an RV salesman who has done fairly well for himself. His collection was truly immaculate to behold, and I have not seen many of these cars anywhere since. I figured it was about time I posted up this incredible experience here on MoM. Cars do not get more exotic than this, enjoy the gallery and details inside.

The 2011 Alpine Concours d’ Elegance

Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC-12, Brothers from different mothers

We were in attendance  for this years Alpine Concours d’ Elegance. It was a solid event filled with more newer than older cars, although there were some fine examples of each. We lucked out with the beautiful weather and great setting. Here are some of the highlights….    Read the rest of this entry »

Anticipating Concours weekend in Monterey, CA

Caddy Hood Ornament

Once you have experienced the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, and the events which surround it, there is nothing quite like that excitement of knowing you’re going back. It is one of the most epic automotive events in the world, and the scale of it is something that can only be fully grasped by those who have seen it first hand. I would be lying if I tried to play it off like I wasn’t giddy with excitement right now.     Read the rest of this entry »

Ferrari Fantasy

An Impressive Lineup To Say The Least!

Ok, so the last article was all about the Lamborghinis at Le Belle Macchine d’Italia, well I am back, and with Ferraris this time!  There are a couple more photos than last time, and the only real organization this time is that I will be separating them from the ones that were taken at the track, and ones that were taken at the Concorso   Read the rest of this entry »

The Turbocharged Revolution

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, well over 400hp from only 2.0L thanks to modifications ;)

There are still some people out there who say “there is no replacement for displacement”, then when their large displacement V8 Camaro or Mustang gets blown away by a little 2-liter Lancer Evolution they have a bit of a hard time explaining themselves. The truth is that in the industry there is a very direct “replacement for displacement” and that is a turbocharger. The purpose of any form of forced induction is to give a certain sized motor the power of a larger one. It’s true that a larger motor will make more power than a smaller motor if both have the same turbo/boost level/compression ratio, but that is not how turbos are used in the industry. In reality, they are used to make cars with smaller motors give similar performance to cars with big motors.   Read the rest of this entry »

Triple Spotted! Ferrari Enzo, F40, and 575M, Millville NJ

Epic Ferraris

Outside NJ Motorsports Park, there had been a Ferrari Club Event there that day. We were driving and saw the cars out of the corner of our eyes and immediately pulled into the Wawa so we could get these pics. Seeing such cars in the real world is incredible because they just stand out so much from the normal mundane cars around them. More Pics inside:   Read the rest of this entry »
