Spotted! KTM X-Bow combo, Austria

Not exactly sure where we were in Austria at the time, but these two track day specials stood out like a sore thumb on the highway amongst normal traffic. I had never seen an X-Bow in person before so seeing two, especially in these epic inverted colors, was quite a treat. Enjoy the pics. Read the rest of this entry »

Spotted! 2013 SRT Viper, Woodward Ave, MI

This is the fourth one I have seen cruising around, but the first one I have gotten solid photos of. It is a great looking car, very similar to the older Vipers in its appearance on the road. Enough so that it takes a sharp eye to distinguish one of these new ones from the scores of older Vipers running around during cruise nights. The LEDs give it away though. Enjoy the pics.

Spotted! 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R, Woodward Ave, MI

An extremely rare spot on Woodward Ave this weekend. Only around 1900 C10 generation Skyline GT-Rs were produced worldwide, and only a small handful of them have found their way to the US. This car took me completely by surprise, but I recognized it as soon as I saw it and kind of just stood there dumbfounded because I had never seen one before. He came back the other way on Woodward a few minutes later and I was able to get these two shots. I never saw him go by again that night so I’, glad I got these pics. Hopefully I will find it parked at some point, and can do a real quality photo shoot. Till then, I’m just happy to have seen it at all. Great car.

Spotted! The Audi R8 LMS that won the 2012 Nurburgring 24 hours, Germany

Little did I know at the time, but this R8 LMS I caught driving around the roads by the Nurburgring would go on to be the race winner. Technically it is on a public road in these photos, so it can count as a spot.

Obscure Auto: B. Engineering Edonis

B. Engineering Edonis

This car is linked heavily with the Bugatti EB-110 covered previously. B. Engineering, an Italian firm made up of many ex-Bugatti engineers, designed a chassis based on the design of the EB-110 in order to make an extremely exclusive supercar that would commemorate the turn of the 21st century. They called their car the Edonis, and while it did share its chassis design with the EB-110, major changes occurred everywhere else.    Read the rest of this entry »

Spotted! Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Monterey, CA

Bugatti Veyron SS

Saw this, the fastest production car in the world, parked outside a hotel in Monterey with 6 other Veyrons. The Veyron SS is truely magnificent. This car’s blue-finished carbon fiber is something that is very unique to the SS. Awesome experience to see this car in person.

Cars 101: Proper Lane Merging

Merge Sign

This is one of those things that should be simple and not worth talking about, but during my daily commute I have realized that it is, in fact, beyond the comprehension of a rather alarming number of people.    Read the rest of this entry »
