When it comes to the late Twenties and German cars, Mercedes-Benz is usually the first car someone thinks of, thanks to their classic lines and supreme pedigree. The color, however, is not usually this scorching, eye-searing yellow paint. I’m not about to complain, however. This 1928 S model is quite a rare bird, carrying a gorgeous custom body and the same owner since 1964.
Despite its rarity this Mercedes somehow ended up on a used car lot in the United Kingdom for 1,300 pounds, and carries all of its original part numbers under the bodywork, which does not carry its original numbers. The bright yellow paint, excellent woodwork, and elephant hood ornament all combine to create a truly alluring package, one which belonged on the field last month. Enjoy the photos.
