Obscure Auto: TVR Cerbera Speed 12

The one actual road-going Speed 12 in existence

This is a mythical machine known to many enthusiasts. Anyone who has played Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport will recognize it as the most insane car that british manufacturer, TVR, ever built. It is the Cerbera Speed 12. People who know it, know of it’s insanity, but few know it’s actual story. We will try and set the record straight.       Continue reading Obscure Auto: TVR Cerbera Speed 12

Forza Motorsport 4

Gumpert Apollo in Autovista

In the past few days, since Forza 4 hit the shelves, I have devoted a rather large, and probably unhealthy amount of time to it. As a young car guy who enjoys video games I was indescribably excited for the game’s release. So after a decent amount of hours played in the game I am ready to share my thoughts.     Continue reading Forza Motorsport 4

As ricers go, this deserves some credit

The new Bugatti Civic

I’m not really a fan of ricers or fake kit cars, but for some reason I have to give this credit. Its really well done, and I find it hysterical.

Fiat 500 Abarth Cinquone Stradale, a small beast with a massive bite

In BBC Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson was amazed at what the Fiat 500 Abarth felt like with 160hp. Well Italian tuner Romeo Ferraris thought that that was still a bit weak, so they upped the ante to 300hp… in that same car the size of a shoe. All of that turbocharged power sent to the front wheel will surely make this thing quite a handful to drive, and it is outfitted as such. The interior looks to be quite racy but somehow they decided a touch of luxury alcantara would be necessary as well. Romeo Ferraris (yes, a name bordering on infringing the rights of two Italian automakers) seems to be a force to be reckoned with. If they are crazy enough to make a Fiat 500 like this, then I can only imagine what they would do with other cars. Be sure to keep an eye on them. More pics below.   Continue reading Fiat 500 Abarth Cinquone Stradale, a small beast with a massive bite

Something is up with BMW’s power claims

1M vs M3

Recently BMW has made a commitment to turbocharging their entire lineup in the name of efficiency. Many enthusiasts are skeptical that this move will serve to improve the cars, but I think otherwise. I have driven a few 335is and can say that BMW has gotten these boosted cars to deliver their power very smoothly. They are a far cry from the more crude turbocharged cars of old that were plagued by excessive lag and sudden onset power that could unset the car’s balance in a corner. These cars seem to be living up to the BMW reputation quite nicely, and have even shown some surprises that BMW executive wanted to conceal on paper in order to preserve demand for their other cars.     Continue reading Something is up with BMW’s power claims

Formula D in California

Just a really well done video from AWFILMS. Shows some good drifiting action and some very slammed machines as well. Gotta love it.

Test Driven: Mazda Mazdaspeed6 (7.5/10)

This is a car that often goes overlooked by those looking for fast, practical fun. The allure of such cars as the rally bred Subarus and Mitsubishis or the German engineered Audis and BMWs seems not to leave much room for other competition in this segment. Maybe that is why Mazda produced the MS6 for only two model years. Despite its short lived production run the MS6 does offer many of the same things that make the aforementioned cars so great, including all wheel drive, a turbocharged engine, a manual gearbox, sporting dynamics, and quite a fair bit of comfort and refinement. As a package it is very intriguing so I decided to take one out for a spin and see how it drove first hand.     Continue reading Test Driven: Mazda Mazdaspeed6 (7.5/10)

My new Honda (NSFW)

This is an automotive twist on the famed “my new haircut” video. It gives us a glance into the life of an epic ricer. Enjoy…
