Most people seemed to agree that the KIA Stinger GT looked enticing when it first broke cover. I also heard many people say they’d buy one and de-badge it so no one would know it’s a KIA. With its wonderful proportions, the Stinger GT looks even better in person than it does in photos, and the fact that it’s a KIA doesn’t bug me in the slightest. I’m someone who likes to give credit where credit is due, and this could well be a home run for KIA. Let them have their shine.
I’m very curious to see what pricepoint KIA will place the Stinger at. I think it’s obvious they need to go lower to compete with the likes of the BMW 4 Series, but how much lower before it’s too low to be seen as a genuine competitor?

A little disappointed they’re not making the coupe that debuted as a concept back in ’14, but at least they’re keeping the name (and RWD!). It does look mighty spiffy.
I think the base turbo-four might start in upper 20’s / low 30’s, with the twin-turbo V6 starting in the mid-upper 30’s. That would undercut the likes of BMW and Lexus and put it roughly even with the Charger (I think they still offer the 5.7L V8 for mid-30’s, which is still rated 370 or so HP after all these years).
Of course, just guesses at this point!

I would have to agree that KIA has a potential home run…and I’m not a sedan fan. This car looks far better than the run of the mill glut of crossovers and SUVs (they are all looking the same) that are as plentiful as belly buttons. Good to see that someone is trying to build something different that does not take being a CEO to afford…hopefully.

Even if it’s pricy brand new, it’s still a KIA, so you know they’ll be a dime a dozen when they’re off lease in a year or two.
