Normally it’s cool enough seeing one exotic car on the road, even a single Ferrari can often make your day. But Monterey, California is an excessive, excessive place during Car Week. You see all sorts of awesome combos, and you even get used to seeing the more “common” exotics. These two photos are a good taste of “the norm” during the week. In the photos you will notice a Rolls Royce Ghost, McLaren 12C Spider, McLaren 650S, Mercedes SLS AMG, two Ferrari 458s, a Mercedes SL63 AMG, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and I’ll even include the Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible in the back there. Now who reading this wouldn’t love to have all of those in your garage?

This is an exciting video that lets us all take a first-person ride in one of the most iconic supercars of all time, the McLaren F1. In addition to the glorious V12 melody, you will also hear the driver sharing some very interesting practical information about the car.
Enjoy!

One of our more insane spots out on the streets during Monterey Car Week this year was this immaculate white McLaren F1. A very rare car indeed, just 65 F1 road cars were produced, and this is one of only a handful fitted with the “High Downforce Kit.” There were not many white McLaren F1s built, and two of the three F1s we saw over the course of the week were white. The other white one was up for auction, where it failed to sell at a bid of $10.5 million. So taking a number like that into account, this is quite a good spot. One has to wonder, in the photo above, what is worth more money, the car or the building behind it?

Autocar brings us an incredible race between three of the fastest vehicles on the planet, the Mclaren P1, the Porsche 918, and the Ducati 1199 Superleggera. Imagine having all of those vehicles together with a runway at your disposal, just epic!
Check out what happens!

There are always some extremely tasty cars in and around the paddock at Laguna Seca during the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. In addition to some of the most legendary racing cars of all time (see that Porsche 917 above), you are also likely to find many awesome road cars, everything from classic gems to the most current hypercars.
The action in the Paddock was especially good this year. We’ll show you the racing cars later on, but we wanted to start with the road cars, which were quite a spectacle. Enjoy!
The new McLaren P1 hypercar is one of the most incredible machines ever sprung on four wheels. We got our first good look at a P1 at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance this year, although we did catch a quick glimpse of one last year at Pebble Beach as well. This white one on display at Amelia Island stunned the crowds of show-goers with its unique styling that is quite different from the supercar norm.
You can view the McLaren P1 in action here, and also check out our footage of them unloading this P1 before the show. This was a great first taste of McLaren’s latest hypercar, and we hope to see more of the P1 when we venture out to Pebble Beach next week.

Drive has posted their NBC special on YouTube, so we figured we’d share it for everyone who hasn’t seen it. It originally aired on NBC as part of the coverage for the Monaco Grand Prix. Big props to everyone at Drive for getting that gig, and doing a phenomenal job with making us all learn, laugh, and drool. Chris Harris, Mike Spinelli and Matt Farah make a great trio, could Drive be the Top Gear of tomorrow?

Jay Leno is a very lucky guy. Forget the whole successful comedian thing, that’s great and all, but he is the first American to take delivery of the new McLaren P1 hypercar. In this video, Jay goes for a ride with McLaren CEO, Mike Flewitt, and aims to show us what his new car is like to drive on real roads.
It’s pretty incredible to think that the P1 can go to a drag strip and run under 10 seconds in the quarter mile, and then cruise home in electric mode without making a sound. It also traps at around 150mph, so at many drag strips it may need a parachute fitted, and this is 100% stock! Not to mention the handling, which the P1 can do just as well as it goes in a straight line.
So enjoy this hands-on video of Jay Leno’s McLaren P1. It’s quite something.

Motor Trend got some brief quality time with the McLaren P1 hypercar at the Top Gear Test Track recently, and they managed to get some performance numbers that we’ve all been eagerly awaiting. Watch the video for the full effect, but they measured 0-60mph in 2.6 sec, 0-100mph in 4.7 sec, and the 1/4 mile in 9.8 sec @ 148.9mph.
So basically, to put things in perspective, the McLaren P1 does 0 to 100mph in the same amount of time it takes for a Subaru STI to reach 60mph, and it reaches the STI’s claimed top speed in around 10 seconds. There are fast cars, and there are hypercars. DAMN!

Here is the second part of our highlight reel from the 2014 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. It includes everything from the magnificent Ferrari 330 P3/4 you see above to the brand new McLaren P1 and Lamborghini Huracan. Also featured are the best in show award winners, a Horch 853 and a Scarab Mark II. The cars at this year’s show were truly incredible, and we literally were shooting photos from sunrise to sunset.
Enjoy the photo gallery.
