Mind Over Motor Podcast 4 – Amelia Island Recap, the new M5, Cheap Crap, and What’s a Mitsubishi?
Coming out of the Amelia Island Concours on Saturday we found this leaving the driveway of the Ritz. A Porsche 959 Group B Rally car pulling out onto the public road. This is the sort of insanity you see all weekend, and it’s awesome!

The current “King of the Ring,” the new Porsche 991.2 GT2 RS is an incredible machine to behold up close. It’s so focused on speed that it’s damn near a racecar, but being a road car, all of its functional fine details have to be well-finished. All of the air vents are finished with beautiful carbon fiber and the single piece center-lock wheels are quite elegant in addition to being functionally lightweight. As an object, the GT2 RS is something very special.
I also took a look under the rear bumper at the exhaust system, and DAMN! It’s a valved Porsche Sport Exhaust like the optional system on lesser 911s, but in the GT2 RS the butterfly valve is basically just a straight dump hole out the rear of the catalyst assembly. That means the exhaust sound will be about as rowdy as can be when the valve is open, and it will only get channeled through the muffler when the valve is closed. In short, your neighbors may hate you.
But everyone at Cars and Coffee will love you, so I guess it evens out. It was a thrill to see this thing in person for the first time. Enjoy the gallery!

Bright yellow has always looked good on RUF Porsches. This 996 R Turbo is no exception, and no one was expecting it when it pulled up at the Bergen Cars and Coffee last month. Enjoy the photos of this magnetic little number. Continue reading RUF R Turbo at Bergen Cars and Coffee
We visited the Philadelphia Auto Show this weekend and there were lot’s of sights to be seen. The exotics displays were as good as they’ve ever been, largely thanks to CF Charities and their friends. The hypercar game was strong, with two Bugattis and 3 very unique American offerings from SSC, Mosler and Saleen, among others. It was insane.
The rest of the show was top-notch too, with many of the latest and greatest offerings were on display. We also got to take a quick spin in the new KIA Stinger GT, and the car made a great first impression.
Enjoy the photos, some are mine and some are courtesy of my friend and co-worker Sam Chun. These are some highlights with plenty more to come.
I am a huge fan of cars in offbeat colors, and the Porsche Carrera GT happens to be one of my favorite cars of all time. This baby blue Carrera GT is one of the staples of the collection at Top Gear Imports. I had seen many photos of it around the interwebs, but it was unbelievable seeing the car in person. Light blue has always been my favorite color on Porsches but they didn’t offer the Carrera GT in such a hue when it was new.
Enjoy the photos of this unique Carrera GT!

One of the more wild colors I’ve seen on a Porsche 918. This was one of the hypercar stars at Cars and Caffe at Garden State Plaza. There were literally crowds of people around it all day, and that’s with other hypercars around it. Can you imagine the kind of attention this thing would draw in town on its own?
