This isn’t exactly historic… well at least not yet anyway…. but it was present for the Lime Rock Historic Festival this past September. This is the most extreme GT3 Porsche has yet built. It may well go on to be one of the most valuable Porsches in the future, if Porsche does indeed make all future GT3s as PDK only. The RS 4.0 is an incredible car, and I had the distinct pleasure of hearing one go past me at full throttle while I was in Switzerland last summer. This one managed to stay stationary for me, so I was able to get some solid pics. Enjoy.
If one day a magical genie came up to me and said “I will give you any classic Ferrari you want”, my choice would be this 275 NART Spyder. Yes that’s right, I would rather have this car than the legendary 250 GTO or 250 Testa Rossa. Why, you ask? Because I happen to be more of a road car person. I like racing cars just fine, but for me, driving perfection is found with the wind in my hair, and the hum of a great engine bellowing off the trees as I cruise by. Going on a real world journey in a great car may be my favorite thing to do, and it is the sole reason this 275 NART Spyder was commissioned by Luigi Chinetti back in the 1960’s. Drive’s Chris Harris goes to Singer in California to see their bespoke built Porsche 911 and what goes into making it. The idea behind Singer’s car is that they have taken all of the best parts from every 911, and put them all into one car in an effort to make the perfect Porsche. All of the details are discussed in the video, but all I can say after watching it is “What a car!!!”. Yet another machine to add to my list should I win the Lottery. Enjoy.
This video is extremely entertaining, and it is good to see a proper driver driving a proper Bimmer (E34 M5) like he’s just robbed a bank or something. This video is just plain epic, but it is surely one of those things that walks a very thin line between awesome and insanely stupid. We don’t recommend any of you go and try this for yourselves, this guy was reckless enough for all of us, I think. Enjoy the hoonage.
This was the first new Morgan 3 Wheeler I saw in person. It was in attendance for last year’s Woodward Dream Cruise, and spent time both cruising and parked on the sidelines. I really loved the flying tiger fighter plane inspired livery, this car is about fun and this look adds a level of badass appeal. The 3 Wheeler is very cool to see on the road because it is so unlike anything around it. Hopefully I can find a way to drive one soon for a review. Enjoy the pics. The new Corvette has finally been unveiled, and my, oh my is it stunning. Other Corvettes have all been a bit plain at their unveiling, but this new Corvette Stingray is legitimately stunning. I would even venture to say it is the most stunning Vette at its launch since the original Stingray, the C2. You can see all the details on Jalopnik, but in short its got a 450hp V8, all of GM’s latest tech toys, a 7 speed manual transmission, and higher quality befitting of a world class sports car. All in all, I am thoroughly impressed. Great job GM!!!
This one is fresh from earlier today. I was out and about in the area, and upon coming into Newtown I saw this Demonic looking black Porsche. As it turns out, it just so happened to be the mightiest 911 of all, the GT2 RS. I saw this car fly by me once before a few months ago, so I was thrilled to be able to get some quality pics this time. It was kind of funny to see a car like this out on a day with such a marginal weather; overcast, intermittent drizzle, and around 48 degrees F. This is a truly awesome car, and it certainly made my day. Enjoy the pics, this GT2 RS turns the badass factor up to 11 for sure.
I have seen this awesome looking Porsche 928 around the area numerous times, but I finally got some quality photo time with it a few months ago during the cruise night in Hopewell, NJ. I am not sure exactly what has been done to the car mods wise, but it sure sounds good. It looks like it may be a Strosek bodykit, but I’m not certain. A 928 GTS is pretty darn quick to begin with, so I’m sure this car moves quite well. Enjoy.
This epic Ford rat rod was at the Scarsdale Concours d’ Elegance. It was very well done, with a brutal supercharged V8 powering it. One has to wonder why someone would give it all that power with such skinny rear tires, but hey, it sure caused a scene amongst high society. This glorious rat rod stood in stark contrast to the high dollar luxury cars that filled the streets that day. It was a big calloused middle finger to the Rolls Royce crowd, with their pocket watches, and yippy appetizer dogs. This thing added a bit of flavor to this year’s event that is not normally present at a Concours, and for that I loved it. This is one of the coolest rat rods I have ever seen, the supercharged V8, the red wheels on whitewall tires, everything about it screamed “F**k you society!”. And at the end of the day, that is what a rat rod is supposed to say, so it is quite proper. Enjoy the pics. Continue reading Scarsdale Concours d’ Elegance: Ford Rat Rod→
This gorgeous, and freshly restored, 300SL Roadster showed up at the Cruise Night in Hopewell, NJ last spring. The 300SL is an icon of its era, and the gullwing version was even the fastest car in the world for a time. Today the car looks as classy as ever with its long hood and beautiful swooping lines. Enjoy the photos.
I saw this beautiful C1 Corvette during my last night on Woodward Ave this past summer. I saw many of the great American cars this summer, but it was nice to leave off with true legend. The Corvette is still one of the fastest, most accomplished cars money can buy, and this was the first generation. By 1958 V8s were the norm in Corvettes, and the car was well on its way to becoming a legend. This read and white example is like the apple pie of Corvette heritage. Enjoy.
