One of the more wild colors I’ve seen on a Porsche 918. This was one of the hypercar stars at Cars and Caffe at Garden State Plaza. There were literally crowds of people around it all day, and that’s with other hypercars around it. Can you imagine the kind of attention this thing would draw in town on its own?

Porsche 997 GT2 RS at Driven By Purpose
The new 991.2 GT2 RS may have just crushed the Nurburgring production car lap record, but this, the previous gen 997 GT2 RS is still the big daddy of desirable Porsche 911s in my book. The new GT2 RS has 700hp, but it’s also totally loaded with tech to help it be as fast and as controllable as possible. This car has 620hp, but requires the driver to shift their own gears and control the flow of all that torque to the rear wheels. There’s a lot less tech in the 997 than in the 991, and I think that makes it a more timeless experience in the long term.
This is still very much a widow-maker 911, and it’s the ultimate turbocharged 911 yet to be offered with a clutch pedal. The new one is cool, but for me, the 997 is what dreams are made of. Enjoy!

My first McLaren 720S at Driven By Purpose
This was my first time seeing the new McLaren 720S in person, at the Driven By Purpose event in Liberty State Park. It’s pretty damn incredible when you see it in the flesh, a true cutting edge supercar. It’s proportions seem a tighter than those of the 650S, which it replaced, and a lot of the styling that seemed questionable in photos made sense when you can distinguish every little contour. I also loved this copper orange and black two tone color scheme. Very cool indeed, and supposedly that 720hp claim is more on the conservative side.
We’ll surely be seeing many more 720S’ around in the next year. Now I just need to find one I can drive for a proper review. Enjoy the gallery!
Spyker C8 Spyder in Scarsdale
Spykers are such incredible cars. The further we go into the digital age, the more desirable their hand crafted analogue nature becomes. I mean, just look at the fine details in that interior, and that exposed gear shifter. It’s lightweight and it’s pretty darn simple, just you in full control of that splendid Audi V8.
I can’t help but to love it.
Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition at Driven by Purpose
This has to be the most pristine Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition I’ve ever seen in person. It had just 2,000 miles on it, and was brought in on the back of a truck. I normally roll my eyes when people don’t drive their cars to shows, but given that this has become a classic, and has such low mileage, I give it a pass.
This Lambo looks great with NYC. Enjoy the pics!

This dark gray LaFerrari was lurking at the Scarsdale Concours
I haven’t been genuinely excited to sit in a car in quite a while, but certain cars still bring out that same childish excitement. The owners of this sinister gray LaFerrari were nice enough to let people sit in their $3.5 million dollar holy grail of a car. It made every kid’s day, and even some of us who used to be kids.
The LaFerrari rolled in late and it absolutely stole the show, like it had its own gravitational pull or something. Gray is not that flashy of a color, but the car’s low dark shape moving through the crowd made everyone do a double take before they realized exactly what it was.
Sitting in the LaFerrari feels a lot different from sitting in a 488, more like the cockpit of a fighter jet than the cabin of a car. Everything seems tighter, and more focused. I was kind of surprised, but then again, you wouldn’t want your seven figure Ferrari to feel exactly the same as your six figure Ferrari now, would you?
This was actually the third LaFerrari we saw that day. It was the only one at Scarsdale, but there were two that were trucked in for the meet at Garden State Plaza in NJ. The owner of this gray LaFerrari actually drove his car to and from the show, so by that alone he’s infinitely cooler in my book. Let alone the fact that he and his wife let people sit in it. This is hypercar ownership done right, and all you stingy billionaires should take notes.
Enjoy this gallery of THE Ferrari.
