Chevy C2 Corvette Stingray 427 at Scarsdale

Corvette C2 427 Stingray Scarsdale

I still maintain, the C2 is still the best looking Corvette of all time. Something about those bold, creased lines.

Feast Your Ears on this Pagani Zonda Compilation by Marchettino

People often ask me what my favorite car is, and my answer is always the Pagani Zonda. I have a great love for many different cars out there, but none make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end quite like the Zonda.

Just listen to the sound of these Mercedes V12 engines. Is there a better sounding car out there?

Jay Leno gets his hands on a Ferrari F40

The F40 is the ultimate Ferrari hypercar, and if you disagree with that, you’re wrong. It turned turbo-lag into an art form, and it breathes fire in a way that a LaFerrari can only manage when it actually catches on fire.

Sure there are faster cars now, but there will always be faster and faster cars out there. The key is being one that is remembered, and the F40 will always be the first road car to top 200mph.

Let’s see what Jay thinks when he gets to live the legend…

What does $100k in options look like on a modern Ferrari?

It’s going to be Ferrari Tuesday today.

First up, Rob Ferretti shows us what $100,000 in options looks like on his 488 Spider. Just think of the collection of cars you could have for that much. Damn. (The 488 is so nasty, though).

Jay Leno Takes Us Out in a ’64 Pontiac GTO, the Genesis of the Muscle Car.

Putting a big engine in a smaller car is the basic recipe for “hot rodding.” Back in the 1960’s, GM corporate was just as much of a hard-headed pain in the ass as they are today. As a company policy, they didn’t allow their biggest engines to be put into their smaller cars. Thankfully, John DeLorean and his team took it upon themselves to write that wrong.

Ferrari F12 TDF at CF Charities

Ferrari F12 TDF CF Charities 1

We saw Ferrari’s ultimate front-engined V12 supercar, the F12 TDF, at the CF Charities Supercar Show. One of just 799 built, Ferrari took their plush F12 grand tourer and turned it into a batshit crazy race car for the road, complete with a 780hp naturally aspirated V12. Let us cherish this moment because this sort of engine may not be long for this world.

Enjoy the rest of the photos and check out Chris Harris’ Top Gear Review of the F12 TDF below, so you can hear it’s fury for yourself.

Chevy C7 Corvette Gran Sport vs. Porsche 991.2 Carrera S

Corvette vs Porsche 911, it’s been a rivalry for decades, even though the two price points often don’t overlap. This is all for bragging rights on the streets, and now the difference is bigger than ever. Can the new turbocharged 911 Carrera S beat out the new Corvette Gran Sport? And even if it can win, can the Porsche justify its $50,000 premium over the Vette?

Ever Wonder What a 520hp LS3-swapped ND Miata Would Be Like?

This is Flyin Miata’s full LS3 V8 package for the ND Mazda Miata. It costs around $75,000 total, but you get 520hp in a happy car the size of a thimble. Matt Farah, of The Smoking Tire, got to take it for a spin.

Seems like a total riot!

Matt Farah Shows Us His Modded Ford Focus RS

Being a successful car journalist, Matt Farah has been able to get the hookup on modding his Ford Focus RS. It seems like he’s basically maxed out the stock turbo at this point, but just look at the huge gains his car made in the mid range. That’s a ton of usable performance!

Now, he quotes ~350whp, but remember RS’s need to be dynoed in front wheel drive, with the rear diff unplugged. Figure around 10% drivetrain loss for FWD and that shows around 380-390hp at the crank. Now figure around 20-25% drivetrain loss for AWD, and the peak power on the stock turbo (likely on 91 octane) is +/- 300awhp. Not too different from an STI, but please believe a bigger turbo will be a popular mod on the Focus RS for those wanting serious horsepower.

Enjoy!
