1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible at Lead East

Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible Lead East 1

What a color combo on this immaculate ’56 Chevy!

Mint green and black two tone is not something you see everyday, and how spectacular it looked on this car. There were other Chevys of the era in attendance at Lead East this year, but this thing stood out for me among the crowd. I was literally drooling over this thing for like 40 minutes (my girlfriend will be happy to confirm).

I always love cars in off-beat and unique colors, but this Bel Air Convertible was also in pristine condition, which helped it draw me in. This is proof that a car does not need to be totally custom to shine at a show like Lead East. With the right options, a factory car can be quite stunning on its own.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2015 RADNOR HUNT CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE: PART 2

Radnor Hunt 2015 Porsche 959 Front

And now we bring you our second round of highlights from the 2015 Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance. These were some of the more modern cars on the field, everything from supercars like the Porsche 959 seen above, to a Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi under the hood. The Radnor Concours was really great this year.

Lead East Ford Hot Rod Number 4

More American steel action, here is our 3rd round of highlights from Lead East 2015.

What I love most about all of these custom cars is the level of personality they possess. When a person builds a car into a custom ride, aspects of their personality rub off on the car, bringing the machine that much more to life.

Enjoy the photos!

Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Spotted in Radnor, PA

Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 Radnor Hunt

Among the many awesome cars buzzing around the Radnor Hunt Concours last weekend, this beastly Camaro Z/28 caught my eye as it drove past.

A triumph of GM’s modern engineering, the Camaro Z/28 is a big heavy muscle car that is a helluva lot faster around a race track than it should be. With 305 section tires at all 4 corners, it has grip for days, so much so that it actually embarrassed the mighty Nissan GTR.

Happy Friday!

1960 Chevy Impala Spotted on Woodward Ave

Chevrolet Impala Woodward Ave 2

This beautiful 1960 Chevrolet Impala is a regular at the Woodward Ave Cruise Nights. I love its Marvin Martian details as well.

As a boulevard cruiser, things don’t get much better than this.

Enjoy the pics!

1956 Chevrolet Hardtop

Until last month, I’d never been to Detroit. Nick kept telling me as we got closer and closer to the Motor City that the cruise-in scene on weekend nights was absolutely my sort of thing, and I was stoked. Of course, Mother Nature had other ideas. After Nick, Shane, and I got drenched in a freak thunderstorm that gave us the best rainbow I’d seen in a decade, I looked around at the cars that did manage to show up–and I wasn’t disappointed. Edmunds Compares the C2 Corvette and C7 Corvette

Edmunds takes us for a spin in two Corvettes separated by 50 years, a C2 Stingray and the current C7 Stingray.

My how things have progressed technologically, but I still think the C2 Stingray is the best looking Vette of all time.

Enjoy!

2016 Chevrolet Cruze SPIED in Birmingham, MI!

New Chevrolet Cruze Spied Front 2

As all of you know, Nick, Shane, and I were all out having a road trip through Detroit, MI this past weekend for the Concours of America at St. John’s. Before we did that, though, Nick saw the Cadillac CT6 pre-production car drive past our dinner spot at Duggan’s on Woodward Avenue. After checking out the car scene on Woodward later that evening, we drove over to Birmingham and looked for something to do. As it turned out, there was a camouflaged Chevrolet sitting on Martin Avenue, by the park. After shooting it, I took some time to figure out what it might be, and based on the size and shape of the windows, and the grille inserts, I’m pretty sure that this is the new Cruze. Considering GM’s headquarters is just less than 20 miles from where we were, it’s a safe bet that this is probably the Cruze. Continue reading 2016 Chevrolet Cruze SPIED in Birmingham, MI!

’69 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 Convertible at the Greenwich Concours

Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 Greenwich 1

When I daydream about my ideal classic Muscle Car, this ’69 Chevy Camaro is pretty much what I imagine. Something that embodies the essence of the flavor that made the American Muscle Car famous, but also with the right package to be an enjoyable driver.

This 1969 model Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 Convertible has everything I’d want. It’s not the craziest Camaro, but it’s not the little one either. She’s got a 396 big block under the hood, with an enjoyable 350-375hp. Not too “fast” by today’s standards, but surely enough to smoke the tires and piss off some Prius owners. For me, this sort of car isn’t about speed at this point, though. It’s about cruisin’ around and enjoying life. That’s why I was thrilled to see it had a manual tranny, a proper 4 on the floor. I know many people like automatic Muscle Cars, but I’d never have one without a stick.

So with this Camaro I could enjoy the full muscle car experience. It has the unique style, a nice big-block V8 rumble, enough performance to get in trouble, some wind-in-your-hair excitement, and an enjoyable manual transmission. There are literally no drawbacks as far as I’m concerned.

That daydream is why this Camaro caught my eye at the Greenwich Concours, because one day I hope to have a classic Muscle car just like this. It may be a Camaro, or it may be something else, but this one had everything I’d want, and at the show the dream was real enough to touch.

One day, but till then enjoy the photos!
