Car Throttle pits the Nissan R34 Skyline GTR against the modern Nissan R35 GTR. Sure, the R35 GTR is a lot faster, but in every plane of existence encompassed within our infinite multiverse, I’d rather have the R34 Skyline GTR. It’s just got more overall appeal in my opinion. See what you think.

The Beach Boys are a cornerstone of American pop culture. They recorded tracks about surfing, motorbikes, muscle cars, drag racing, beaches, meeting women on the beach, and were generally the representation of American pop culture for the early part of the 1960s. They sang about America in the same way the Beatles did so about England–and made a worldwide reach. However, one of their tracks, “409”, was the one that stuck into my head as a kid back in 2002. Jaguar F-Type R Coupe Review: The Best Luxury Sports Car under $120 grand?

The Porsche 911 has traditionally been the king of luxury sports cars, but the current generation has become way too expensive and is fairly forgettable. 911 Carrera S models start at $100,000 and can top $150,000 with all the options you want. For that kind of money, don’t you want something with a little more impact?

The 911 is probably as weak as it has ever been right now, and happily, there are many great options that can be had for under $120,000, let alone under $150,000.

The Jaguar F-Type is a relative newcomer, and it has a hell of a lot to offer for very reasonable money.

This is the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, a rear wheel drive one, which sadly will only exist for the 2015 model year. Come 2016, and all V8 F-Types will all be all wheel drive. The plus, longer tire life and more grip… the minus, longer tire life and more grip.

In either RWD or AWD form, though, the V8 Jag F-Type is a hugely desirable car. To the extent that I might argue it’s the best luxury sports car (or “Sports Grand Tourer”) to buy right now, overall.

As most of you know, I bought a 1993 Mazda Miata a few months ago for dirt cheap, and I immediately joined a few groups to get into the community and meet other people who own Miatas. The first meet of the season for 2015 was last Sunday, and here’s my five favorite Miatas from the event. Many more cars were featured than those here–but these five absolutely caught my eye. Awesome Burnouts and Accelerations at the CF Charities Supercar Show!

Here is some fun stuff from the CF Charities Supercar Show last year. Naturally, when you hold a car meet on an open airstrip, some shenanigans are going to take place… in fact, the more, the better!

It was a motley crew of cars at the show, everything from everyday tuner cars to a mighty Bugatti Veyron and a straight-piped Porsche Carrera GT.

If you love hearing some engines being thrashed, and you love some tire smoke, then you’ll be glad you gave this video a watch!

Harry Metcalfe decides to take his Ferrari Testarossa on a grand tour to the Sahara Desert, because Nice and St. Tropez are so played out at this point. And evidently, the fuel is obscenely cheap in Morocco, so driving a 12 cylinder Ferrari is almost economical.

Arguably the holy grail of classic Japanese cars, this Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R “Hakosuka” Race Car is so “O.G. JDM” that I can barely contain myself!

This was the first generation of Nissan Skyline GT-R, and a far cry from the modern R35 Nissan GTR. The “Hakosuka” Skyline 2000GT-R was extremely successful in racing, with over 50 victories in just 2 years. Then, in 1973, the Mazda RX-3 took the Skyline’s crown as top dog on the Japanese racing circuit.

“Hakosuka” Skylines are really gaining in value now, with a road version selling the same weekend at the RM Auction for $242,000. We saw a few other classic Skyline GT-Rs in Monterey this year, but this racing car in the pits of Laguna Seca really stood out for us. Along with the Toyota 2000GT, this is classic JDM royalty!

Motor Trend gets their hands on the ATS-V–and does naughty things.

The bad Cadillac of old is officially dead–no more garbage luxury cars that aren’t luxurious nor prestigious. But we need not shed a tear. The new Cadillac produces cars that Americans want–stuff that handles properly, looks fantastic, and is priced fitting of a luxury automobile.  Carlos Lago has the keys to a white ATS-V Coupe, which will be coming soon to a showroom near you. After reading some early first drives of the new member to the Cadillac V family, I think we’re going to welcome this family member with open arms. So go ahead, you’ve got twelve minutes to watch this video. You’ll be glad you did.  Just listen to that twin-turbo V6–it has a lot of nice things to say about life.
