Cool and interesting cars that caught our eye either at shows or on the street.

Modified Lamborghini Huracan at Amelia Island

Stanced Lamborghini Huracan Amelia 6

This was a very cleanly modded Lamborghini Huracan at the Festivals of Speed at Amelia Island. I’m not usually one for silver on a Lamborghini because it’s a rather dull color choice, but the blue accents on its wheels added a nice pop to its look.

Pretty striking!

RUF RT12 S at Radnor Hunt

RUF RT12 S Radnor Hunt 1

This is the second insane RUF I’ve seen for the first time this year. I caught a CTR3 at Greenwich, and then I found this RT12 S at Radnor Hunt.

The RUF RT12 S is based on the Porsche 997, but has been modified enough to be considered a new, non-Porsche car. It was available with a variety of options including various engine configurations, gearing, and a choice of RWD or AWD. Maximum power available was 685hp, and with the right gearing it’s capable of a staggering 225 mph.

We saw this thing accelerate hard as it left the show, and it was definitely tuned a bit rich because black smoke came out the tailpipes under full throttle. It’s a monster.

Enjoy the photos!

We saw this stylin’ blue Fiat Dino at Lime Rock

Fiat Dino at Lime Rock

The Fiat Dino is one of my favorite classic Italian roadsters. It’s got Italian style, with a friendly Fiat badge on its hood, and a Ferrari engine underneath where it counts.

To say I want one is an understatement, and it’s always lovely seeing them in person at events.

I LOVE the Blue on this Lamborghini Aventador!

Caught at the Lamborghini stand at Amelia Island, those bright orange brake calipers really make the blue pop.

This 1939 Delage D6 3 Liter Gran Prix is from the last glory days of French racing

1939 Delage D6 3 Liter Grand Prix 2

1939, we all know what was happening in Europe at that time, but on the brink of the second World War, this Delage was competing in the last races before the onset of mass destruction.

It was the end of an era for the automobile, and after the war things would be faster, but they sure wouldn’t look as good. I mean look at the swooping fenders on this thing, it was as much about style as it was about speed. Pre-war era racing was a unique time in automotive history, one that will never be equalled in many respects. Racing had a lot more charm back then, it was more dangerous for it, but that also added to the appeal.

Enjoy daydreaming about this French masterpiece!

The Elusive BMW E46 M3 GTR at Amelia Island

BMW E46 M3 GTR Amelia Island 6

To most people, this looks like any other early 2000’s BMW M3 (if they even know what an M3 is), but for BMW enthusiasts, it’s actually one of the Holy Grails. This isn’t just an E46 BMW M3 with a body kit, this is an M3 GTR homologation road cars. It’s one of ten that were slated to be built, one just six that actually were built, and one of only three of those that still survive. All three M3 GTRs are owned by the BMW Group collection, and I don’t believe any of the GTRs ever made their way into private hands.

Unfortunately, the three remaining M3 GTRs seldom make it out in the world, so it was a rare treat to see this one at Amelia Island. Even when I was at the BMW Museum in Munich, Germany they didn’t have any of the GTRs on display at the time. This was my first time seeing an E46 M3 GTR in person, and I don’t expect to see one again anytime soon.

One of the better color combos on the Porsche 997 GT3 RS

Porsche 997 GT3 RS Lime Rock

Colored wheels are often tacky, but this Porsche 911 GT3 RS wears them well.

Dino 246 GT Berlinetta in Scarsdale, NY

The roads outside the Concours is often a car show unto themselves. Remember folks, it’s not a Ferrari, it’s a Dino.

Noble M12 GTO-3 at Amelia Island

Noble M12 GTO3 Amelia Island 1

This rare Noble M12 GTO-3  was turning heads at Festivals of Speed, Amelia Island. Noble has since gone to make much more extreme cars, but the M12 GTO-3 was one of their early successes. 352hp doesn’t sound like a lot now, with cars like the Focus RS making around the same, but this Noble weighs over 1,000lbs less than Ford’s hottest of hatches. Chew on that.

Today I’m Thankful For This Rauh-Welt Porsche

RWB Porsche 993 Philly 1

Rauh-Welt Begriff, it sounds like something German, but it’s actually the passionate work of a Japanese man named Akira Nakai. He’s built hundreds of these jaw-dropping Porsches, each of them by eye and by hand. They’re all unique.

This green RWB 993 was built by Akira Nakai here, in the Philadelphia area. His client, a young man who worked hard to save up to make his dream a reality, actually had him fly over from Japan and spend a few weeks building the car right in his family’s garage. The whole incredible build was documented in the short film below.

This is only the second RWB Porsche I’ve had the pleasure of seeing in person, and it absolutely stole the show for me at First Class Fitment this year. It is an incredible work of automotive art. It’s Thanksgiving day here, in the USA, and today I’m thankful for people like Akira Nakai, who use their deep passion to create such magnificent things.

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Eat, drink, and be merry, but first check out the rest of this gallery, and be sure to watch the video.

Modified Lamborghini Huracan at First Class Fitment

Slammed Lamborghini Huracan 2

This very red Lamborghini Huracan was one of the stars of the show at First Class Fitment this year. It was a bit slammed, and a little stanced, but just the right amount of each. The Huracan, in general, looks like a spaceship, but the mods on this one made it look even more out of this world.

I caught it on the road as it was leaving the show, as well. If it was cool in the show, surrounded by other amazing cars, out in traffic, surrounded by normal cars, it looked absolutely unreal.

Enjoy!
