Cadillac is not a brand known for being popular with Millennials who are looking at luxury transportation. No matter how good their cars are (and for the most part, they’re far better than they were when I was in high school), people of my generation, for the most part, have stayed away–preferring either Buicks (shockingly enough), Audis, and Lexuses. I’ve also seen an increasing number of well-heeled fellow twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings chasing after the usual BMW and Mercedes suspects. Well, I think Cadillac might have a winner with their new XT4. Continue reading Can Cadillac Connect with Millennials via their new XT4?
This white Duesenberg Model J showed the new cars what class looks like at NYIAS 2018
Just when I thought some of the new cars had style, I walked downstairs and saw this glorious white Duesey in the classics. Aerodynamic efficiency and safety structure is all fine and good, but nothing today has style like the top-tier cars of the 1920’s and 30’s.
These days everyone has a Phantom or a Lambo. If you roll up in a big Duesenberg like this one, it’s game over. You win.

Ruby Red Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster at RM Auctions Amelia Island
Even among top competition, the Mercedes 300SL remains one of the best-looking cars out there. Its swooping lines are absolutely timeless, and I think it has aged beautifully. This example was surely one of the finest in the world, and it was sitting there for us, glistening in the Florida sun. Enjoy!

The Lincoln Mark VII Chronicles, Part V: “What’s that Noise?”
//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
By the end of July, the Lincoln was temporarily out of commission. I’d tried to drive it to work, but now it was clear that I wasn’t going anywhere. A dead battery sidelined it, while I was far too lazy at the time to fix anything on it. Continue reading The Lincoln Mark VII Chronicles, Part V: “What’s that Noise?”
Alfa Romeo TZ Spotted on Amelia Island
We saw this little Alfa TZ cruise by on the road during the Concours Parade. Its beautiful design was penned by Zagato, and it’s one of the most iconic Italian sports cars of the 1960s. It’s amazing just how small the TZ is in person, though. When you’re used to seeing it in photos, you aren’t expecting it to be smaller than a Miata. I just love it!

Jaguar XJR-15 at Cars and Coffee Amelia Island
Following up the Mercedes CLK GTR from last week, here is yet another 90’s unicorn we saw this year at Amelia Island, a Jaguar XJR-15. One of just 53 produced, it is the road going version of the 24hrs of LeMans-winning XJR-9 racecar. I mean, just look at the interior, and how the seats are just molded right onto the carbon tub. It’s an extreme experience to be sure.
We’ve seen this car a few times before, it’s been a staple of the Amelia Island scene every time we’ve been, but this was the nicest setting I’ve been able to shoot it in. Enjoy!

1975 Cadillac Eldorado spotted in Amelia Island, FL
//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
Who says some Malaise can’t show up at a Concours? I say, bring it on and bring it often. This baby blue Cadillac was chock full of people and looked right at home amongst its million-dollar brothers and sisters, happily making its occupants smile.

1936 Lagonda LG45 at the Amelia Island Concours
With a top speed of around 100mph, this striking blue Lagonda was one of the fastest British cars of its day. It was so fast, in fact, that a Lagonda 4.5L won LeMans the year before this car was made. You can see the rest of the details on this car in the image below.
What really drew me to this car was its distinctive color combo and its awesome hood ornament. The color is almost like BMW’s Laguna Seca Blue, and the interior is chocolate leather with light wood trim. It’s a gorgeous combination! As for the hood ornament, it’s a native gentleman fighting a snake with a hatchet. Quite an epic scene to witness as you drive along.
Enjoy the gallery of this magnificent classic Brit!
