Prepare to want an 8 Series a thousand times more than you already do.
The BMW Z8 is such a handsome car with its classico-modern BMW 507 homage design. The right interior sets the look off even more, and this Z8 at the Misselwood Concours had it. Silver is a rather dull color, but with a bright red, black and silver interior, it was a total head turner. Business on the outside, party on the inside.
The BMW Z8 is one hell of a roadster. It has the 4.9L V8 from a BMW M5 underneath its classic looks that sends power through a proper manual gearbox. It’s a total dream car, and that’s why its value has either held or exceeded its original MSRP of $128,000 over time. Right now asking prices range from as much as $300,000 for top examples down to around $130,000 for cars with some miles on them. Buy at the right price and a Z8 is a car you can drive and enjoy and it won’t really cost you anything over time.
It’s always a pleasure seeing a Z8, especially in such a scenic place as this. Enjoy!

No matter what your fancy is, some of the best cars from the famous Cannonball Run were on display at the Greenwich Concours this year. Whether it’s the homage #144 Polezei BMW M5 driven by Alex Roy some years ago across America (a world record winner), the Chevy Malibu police car (my personal favorite), or the Dodge Tradesman ambulance, there was a smorgasbord in attendance. They even had Dan Gurney and Brock Yates’ Ferrari Daytona in attendance–the winner of the second race, and one of the more infamous cross-country cars still around. These cars were true crowd-pleasers, and even Nick, who normally laughs at Malaise-Era stuff, found the Dodge to be amusing (especially when the open exhaust announced the sound of a completely un-muffled small block Dodge). Enjoy the photos of these offbeat rides. Continue reading The Cannonball Run! (sort of) at the Greenwich Concours
Hot pink and yellow, now there’s some style for your Monday. This BMW Isetta 300 immediately caught my eye when I walked into the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. Who wouldn’t want to take this thing for a ride?

The old BMW 8 Series was many things, good and not so good, but it was most definitely sexy as hell. This is BMW’s concept for a new 8 Series, and I think they’ve managed to capture the sexy very well so far. We’ll see how much makes it to production.
This car is supposedly set to replace the current BMW 6 Series, which I had said was already basically filling the shoes of the old 8 Series. I’m all for this, and I hold out some hope that we may also get a genuine 6 Series again, you know, one that isn’t based on the 7 Series platform. One step at a time, though.
I love what I see here so far.
