2015 Los Angeles International Auto Show General Gallery

Over Thanksgiving weekend this year, I finally got to cash in my birthday present from last year–my brother Matt agreed to take me to the Los Angeles Auto Show if I’d come visit him. I decided that it would be foolish to say no–after all, I’d been going to the New York Auto Show for a decade and a half, and I’d never seen the show in Los Angeles. Sorry, New York crew–but the LA Auto Show is indeed better. It’s cleaner, the city doesn’t smell like a New Jersey sewer, there’s real parking (and they charge only twenty bucks, whereas New York charges whatever they darn well please), and there’s even some ride-and-drives (which I did only two, but will definitely drive one of those two cars again soon). After long last, we now have the hypercar comparison test we’ve all been waiting for!

Porsche 918 vs. Ferrari LaFerrari vs. McLaren P1

Chris makes sure to show how they went about the test using the proper methodology, in an effort to produce fair, uncontested results.

The video is around 50 minutes, but well worth the time. So sit back and enjoy this ultimate hypercar showdown!

Singer Porsche 911 at the Radnor Hunt Concours

Singer Porsche 911 Radnor Hunt 17

A Singer 911 is one of the most beautiful vehicles that money (a lot of money) can buy these days. The painstaking fine detail work found these cars is right up there with Pagani, in my opinion, but it comes in the familiar package of an old-school Porsche 911.

There is a level of subtlety about a Singer 911 that you just don’t get with a show-stopping exotic hypercar, although it is surely no less special a machine. To most onlookers, a Singer 911 is just another Porsche rolling through town. It would take someone with a keenly trained eye to recognize the car for the rare masterpiece that it is out in the real world — at which point you can expect that person to immediately drop what they’re doing and give chase to snag a photo of it.

Outside of Monterey Car Week, this is the first Singer 911 I’ve seen out and about in my area, the Northeast USA. We caught it in the car corral at the Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance this year, and it drew quite a crowd throughout the day. The owner was very gracious, and opened the car up to show off all of its magnificent details, which I’m now pleased to share with all of you.

Enjoy the gallery of this stunning machine, and there’s more info on the car itself below.

The Exotic Car Circle at the Concours of America

LaFerrari Concours of America

These are our highlights from the exotic car circle at the Concours of America in Michigan. There was a gorgeous LaFerrari present (one of 2 at the event), a Porsche 918, and an Aston Martin Lagonda sedan, to name a few. It was quite a nice showing.

There are a ton of incredible cars in the Detroit area, with quite a bit of wealth concentrated outside the city itself. This was my second time at the Concours of America, and it has delivered spectacularly both times. Definitely worth the trip to Michigan if you have the time in late July.

Enjoy the gallery!

Exotic Supercar Sounds from the Radnor Hunt Concours

We all know that no exotic car show is complete without some V12s echoing over the countryside as people leave the event. Luckily we were much obliged this year at the Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance. Everything from a V10 Lexus LFA to a straight pipe V12 Lamborghini Murcielago opened the taps as they left the show.

We were there with our cameras ready!

Turn your speakers up and enjoy!

Highlights From First Class Fitment 2015: Part 1

First Class Fitment Volkswagen Mk1 Golf Slammed

First Class Fitment is a stance/modified car show held at the Airport in Princeton, NJ every fall. People come from all over the region, bringing nicely done rides of all sorts. The event is mostly stanced cars, as you might expect, but there are a few other gems sprinkled in for good measure.

This year was quite good. Lots of really well built cars with interesting details. That’s one thing I love about modified car shows, each car has so much personality. They’d all stand out parked on the street alone, but the ones that catch my eye at the show are always extra cool.

I took quite a lot of photos at the event, so there is much more to come. Enjoy the first gallery!

Porsche Cayman GT4s at Radnor Hunt

Radnor Hunt Porsche Cayman GT4 Yellow

There were not one, but two brand new Porsche Cayman GT4s at Radnor Hunt this year. I checked out the inside of the yellow display model, and it just felt perfect – the shifter, the driving position, I even liked the stiff clutch pedal for a car like this. I look forward to the day I may get to actually drive one because I’ve heard it is sublime.

Now if only Porsche would give it the shorter final drive ratio that everyone says it needs, then it’d be just about perfect!

Minty Green Porsche 356 at Radnor Hunt

Radnor Hunt Porsche 356 Green

We caught this lovely mint green Porsche 356 in the special car park at this year’s Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance.

I always love seeing cars in offbeat colors, and the 356 wears this shade of green quite well.

Enjoy!

How Would You Have It? 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera S (It’s Turbo Time!)

2016 Porsche 911 Carrera S Miami Blue

So the new Porsche 911 Carrera models now come with turbochargers, but Porsche also used the occasion to debut this incredible new color, Miami Blue (so ’80s!).

I wanted to see how the change had affected the real, out-the-door prices, so I figured it’d be good for a price game.

Radnor Hunt 2015 Porsche 959 Front

And now we bring you our second round of highlights from the 2015 Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance. The Radnor Concours was really great this year.

We attended the 2015 Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance last Sunday, and were stunned by the array of Alfa Romeos and Packards they were featuring this year, among other things. It was a phenomenal show, with awesome cars of all types and tastes present. This is the first highlight gallery, with much more to come.
