This gorgeous bright blue 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial is one of very few 4 cylinder Ferrari racing cars ever built. Petrolicious does a magnificent job of featuring the story of this machine and its owner.
We actually had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Admiral Phillips back in 2011 at the Radnor Hunt Concours. He was great, and shared every detail we could imagine with us that day, so it’s awesome seeing him and his 500 Mondial now in a feature film like this.
Hot Rod Garage has morphed in a favorite show of mine over on YouTube, simply because of the subject matter covered, and the way in which it is covered. Here, Tony Angelo, proud owner of a matching numbers (same engine as what ended up in the car at the factory) 1971 Dodge Demon 340 in lime green, diagnoses why his engine seized up solid after attempting to break in a new camshaft. While this has never happened to me because I’ve never done serious engine work to a car in my posession, there’s a lot to learn here about what sort of places to look to find the causes of engine seizure, as well as how to make the right repairs. This show’s been going for a few years now from Hot Rod Magazine–and Tony’s a great host. So take a few minutes on your lunch break to watch–plenty to learn.
Jason Cammisa has been a great addition to the Motor Trend field of reviewers, and his take on the Shelby GT350 isn’t just a great watch, it’s pretty educational–then Randy Pobst turns up and shows us all what this brand-new, track destroying Mustang was built to do, in the best way possible. Turn up your speakers and take a lunch break, because you deserve it and need to hear this thing sing.
We all know that no exotic car show is complete without some V12s echoing over the countryside as people leave the event. Luckily we were much obliged this year at the Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance. Everything from a V10 Lexus LFA to a straight pipe V12 Lamborghini Murcielago opened the taps as they left the show.
Fred Williams is absolutely nuts. First, he revives old Jeeps that have been sitting for more years than I’ve been in school. Then, he goes and gets a derelict, neglected old Road Runner, and goes crazy. He’s starting a build which will make Chrysler junkies like me want to pull my graying hair out. This will have a turbocharged Cummins V8, 4WD, and massive mud tires. I’m amused and intrigued.
This is one of the more entertaining review videos I’ve seen, especially when they race the Range Rover Sport SVR against an Alfa Romeo 4C at the track.
The SVR is quite a machine, there’s no denying that!
Bright blue has always been my favorite color on a Lamborghini, in varying shades, over the years. From a turquoise Countach in the 1980s to now this epic blue on blue/black Huracan Spyder. The Huracan has gotten a lot of praise thus far, and I know for my own taste, that losing the roof will only make it better.
So if anyone out there is in the market for a slightly used soul, I’m willing to entertain any offer over $400,000.
Roadkill is essentially two guys wrecking cars for our benefit. And thanks to the 24 Hours of LeMons, a rusty-crusty old Datsun named the Rotsun, a GM V6 with a turbo, and a lot of elbow grease, we have lunchtime entertainment. Roadkill was off the channel for a while due to Roadkill Nights in Michigan, but Finnegan and Freiburger are back and they’ve completely outdone themselves. Watch, and enjoy.
My pick in this one would be the Cadillac all day long. Johnny Lieberman disagrees, though, in favor of the Merc for some very subjective reasons. That’s the name of the auto journalist game, though. But for me, the Caddy’s more nimble handling, better performance measures, and $15,000 savings make it the obvious choice here.
Having said that, between the BMW M3, Cadillac ATS-V, and the Mercedes-AMG C63 S, there is no bad choice at this point. These are all phenomenal cars.
Not sure much else about the Morgan 3-Wheeler from this video because Matt Farah and Alex Roy were just giggling the whole time, but maybe that says all that needs to be said about this car.
